About Dr. Bravo

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of Maryland. My Doctor of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) was awarded in 2011 from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Washington, DC. In addition to the doctoral degree, I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology that was awarded in 2007. My Bachelor of Arts in Psychology was earned from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD in 2004.

My current efforts in the field involve providing psychotherapy in private practice. In addition to individual psychotherapy for depression, anxiety, relationship problems and general life stress, I offer support for a variety of presenting difficulties. My practice also offers family therapy, marital/couples counseling, and group psychotherapy. Outside of private practice, I am an Adjunct Professor for the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and Master of Arts Forensic Psychology program at Argosy University, Washington, DC.  A significant portion of my experience includes work with substance abuse and addictions in outpatient, intensive-outpatient and inpatient settings with both adult and young adult populations. Addictions treatment remains a fundamental component of my practice. Please click here to view my full curriculum vitae.

Regarding my approach, I have been trained from an integrated therapeutic orientation. Frequently I employ cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic approaches while also incorporating physical fitness, family systems, existentialism, positive psychology, mindfulness and motivational techniques. In order to create change and facilitate personal growth, I believe that it is important to possess knowledge from various schools of thought while not being limited to one style in particular. Furthermore, I adhere to the power of creating achievable goals in order to increase esteem, personal value and self-empowerment.

In all, I embrace the significance of a trusting relationship and have faith in the curative process of psychotherapy. My passion as a psychologist is derived and maintained by the positive changes that I witness daily from clients. It would be my pleasure to have the opportunity to work with you.
